Rock Refuge Centre UK
The Rock Family Chapel Ministry as part of our community social responsibility have been led to provide a service called Rock Refuge Centre in Crumlin, Antrim. Northern Ireland. The aim of Rock Refuge Centre a wing of our charity is to have a sense of responsibility towards the community and environment by contributing to environmental, educational and social programs. We want to include those who are marginalised and excluded from the community and bring people together in the community.
We want to create a place where everyone feels welcomed. We respond to emotional issues that no one else cares about. We investing in a social issue, idea, or ideology that allows us to tap into a previously unobtainable demographic. We have a great service and we care about these issues which others do not invest in we do assist in a sincere, passionate and transparent way. At Rock Family Chapel it is our overall aim to achieve a positive impact on society as a whole. We will therefore commence Rock Refuge Centre in January 2020 in UK and in Ghana to provide the following services:
Our current setup costs in UK will be over £50,000.00 of which we will need £20,000 on a rolling basis this will be needed monthly for training costs:
Adults aged 19-60
What?
Rock refuge centre is a sanctuary for vulnerable people in the community. We cater for the following categories of people
Refuge seekers
We provide support to people fleeing arranged marriages, future female genital mutilation (fgm), forced religion, refugees and asylum seekers. We sign post them for rehousing.
We provide them with counselling, vocational training, employment and pastoral care.
Orphans and widows
We provide vocational training, employment, pastoral care and basic needs to orphans and poor widows, and hot meals
Prison inreach
We visit and provide prison inreach in detention centres and custody suites once a week with bibles, provide 1:1 pastoral care support
Ex-offenders
We provide training, employment and personal development services for the unemployed exoffenders with mental health issues.
Christmas gifts
Provide Christmas gifts for children in need who will not receive gifts sharing the love of Jesus birth
Hot meals
Provide soup kitchens, coffee mornings and hot meals to the lonely and those who are unable to cook to bring togetherness and a sense of belonging in the community.

This project is ongoing according to funding. Weekdays 10am to 4pm

Provide the church as a sanctuary to those in need of solace

Supporting the community during COVID19
During Covid-19, members of the church played their part in their neighbourhoods, supporting the vulnerable and front line workers – as neighbours looking out for neighbours as well as more formal volunteering.
